NSS unit of N.E.T Pharmacy College, observed World environment day on 6th June 2024 in AV room of central library.
President of function Dr. H Doddayya, Principal, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur, Chief guest Dr. Kowshik Reddy, Principal, Navodaya college of physiotherapy, Raichur, Resource person Dr. Devanand Maski, Assosciate professor, University of Agricultural sciences, Raichur, Convener Dr. Sunil Kumar B, professor, Department of pharmaceutical chemistry, incharge medicinal and herbal garden, NET pharmacy college, Raichur were on the dias. The programme was anchored by Ms. Rincu Varughese.
The Programme commenced with invocation song by Miss Shradha and Pragati. Mrs. Aparna Laxmi, Assistant professor, Department of pharmacology welcomed the dignitaries on the dias, off the dias invitees, staff, and students. The bouquet was presented to all the dignitaries on the dias. Inauguration of the event was carried out by watering the saplings by the dignitaries on the dias. A brief and proud introduction of the chief guest and resource person was given by Dr. Sunil Kumar B for their marvellous achievements.
Dr. Kowshik Reddy addressed the gathering with an influencing message about importance of environment. Dr. H Doddayya gave his presidential remarks and also spoke about the significance of the theme followed by the felicitation of the resource person. Environmental pledge was dictated by Dr. Muhsin Riyas, lecturer, Dept. of Pharmacy practice. Concluding remarks was given by Mr. Binu KM Associate professor Department of Pharmacy practice and NSS programme officer followed by prize distribution for all the competitions conducted on the behalf of world environment day.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Deepali, Lecturer Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. A video was displayed that gave the importance on world environment day. The session was continued by a lecture delivered by Dr Devanand about the need of plantation and significance of the theme. Saplings were distributed to all NET Pharmacy lecturers and Pharm D Interns. The programme concluded with National Anthem followed by high tea.
Later, the distributed saplings were planted by teaching staff and interns in Medicinal herbal garden located in campus.
