The department of Pharmacy practice of NET Pharmacy College in association with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka & Southern Regional Training Center- PvPI, JSS Medical College & Hospital, Mysuru conducted two days national workshop on “Current Perspectives on Pharmacovigilance & Hemovigilance” based on the theme Medication use without harm for enhanced patient care was arranged in Dr. S R. Hegde Silver Jubilee auditorium on 28-09-2018. This National Conference was arranged as a part of Silver jubilee celebrations of Navodaya Education Trust and NET Pharmacy college Raichur. The formal function started with invocation song by Miss Anura & Group. Dr. T Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya group of institutions was the chief guest & Dr. H Doddayya, Principal, NET Pharmacy College, Raichur was the president of the function. The other dignitaries Dr. M. Ramesh, Professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru (also deputy coordinator southern regional training Center- PvPI) was the guest of honour & Dr. Shiva Kumar, professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacy Practice, NET Pharmacy College, Raichur the convener of the workshop were also present on the dais. The other resource persons Mrs Juny Sebastian, Lecturer, Dept of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru & Mr. Krishna Undela, Lecturer, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru were also present. The formal customary inauguration of the national workshop was done by the dignitaries on the dais by lighting the lamp. Dr. T Srinivas speaking on the occasion as a chief guest stressed the need of arranging such national level workshop to know recent developments and global scenario about current perspectives on pharmacovigilance and hemovigilance. He also appreciated the theme of this national workshop and informed the delegates that the enhanced patient care by using proper medicines without harm is top priority in the present-day practice of treating the patients with different diseases. He admired the good response from the institutions of different states for showing the interest and participating in the workshop to upgrade the existing knowledge and learn the developing trends in the health care system. Dr H Doddayya in his presidential remarks highlighted the points related to pharmacovigilance & hemovigilance he briefed the gathering the names of the institutions of different states who have deputed their students & staff to attend such an important workshop. He also told the detailed protocol of this two days workshop. After the formal function the series of lectures were arranged by eminent resource persons from JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. Dr. M Ramesh delivered a seminar on pharmacovigilance – global & national perspective. In second session he also spoke on the topic causality assessment of ADR’s. Mrs. Juny Sebastian delivered a speech on detection, reporting, management & monitoring of ADR’s. Another resource person Mr. Krishna Undela spoke on the topic pharmacovigilance methods. All the resource persons together delivered a brief speech on assessment of ADR’s
Mrs. Nimmy John welcomed the gathering. Mr. K. M. Binu, Dr. Sarfaraz Md, Mrs. Pradnya Patil & Miss Priyanka introduced the chief guest & resource persons. Mr. Rahul, Lecturer gave the vote of thanks the program was anchored by Miss. Athira, Miss. Neetu, Miss. Remitha & Mr. Jonathan. The delegates from different institutions participated in e-poster presentation arranged in the central library. The e-poster presentation attracted the big crowd which is the special event of this workshop.
