As a part of Silver Jubilee Inaugural Celebrations, Navodaya Education Trust’s NET Pharmacy College arranged a National Seminar on “Quality Management in Pharma Industry” in Dr. C. M. Gurumurthy Hall.
Dr.H. Doddayya, Principal, NET Pharmacy College, Raichur presided over the function, Mr.K. Sharath Reddy, Vice President, Shilpa Medicare Pvt Ltd, Raichur was the Chief Guest of the function. Resource person Mr. Prasanna Kumar Gondi, Senior Director-Quality, Mylan Laboratories Pvt Ltd, Bangalore and Dr. Sarfaraz Md, Convener were also present on the dais.
The program was inaugurated by Customary lamp lighting by the dignitaries on the dais. Dr. Shrisail Patil, Assistant Professor, Dept of Pharmaceutics welcomed the gathering and Dr. Pradnya Patil, Assistant Professor, Dept of Pharmaceutics introduced the Guests to the audience. Mr. K. Sharath Reddy, the chief guest in his address highlighted that since the drugs are very important in saving the life of the patients the quality of the drugs plays a vital role in this respect and therefore he stressed that it is the duty and responsibility of professionals to give top most attention for the quality of the drugs. Dr. Doddayya in his presidential remarks highlighted that strict measures should be adopted to check the quality of the drugs before they are released to the market.
The dignitaries on the dais felicitated the resource persons. As per the program schedule. The Seminar on the topic “Quality Management in Pharma Industry” was delivered by Mr. Prasanna Kumar Gondi. While explaining the quality management in Pharma Industry he highlighted the topic step by step by explaining what is quality, basic functions of Pharma Industry, GMP as a quality management system, quality assurance & six different systems of quality & finally what are the components of QMS. He also explained how is a pharmaceutical product is different, quality systems, etc. This was followed by healthy & Interesting interaction session where in the delegates particularly from Pharma Industry got their doubts clarified.
This was followed by another seminar topic that is “Probiotics” by Dr. M. Shivaprakash, Scientist-E (Retd), National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad. The main attraction of the program was overwhelming response by the delegates for the poster presentation. The posters were evaluated & for the Best posters awards were declared & prizes were distributed.
The days function started with an invocation song by Miss. Anura, Miss. Dhanya & Miss. Anjali. Dr. Sarfaraz Md in his concluding speech briefed the gathering the way the arrangements were made to conduct the Seminar, the different committees made for smooth conduct of the seminar and also praised the staff and student volunteers of the different committees for making this function a grand success. Miss. Naheda Anjum delivered the vote of thanks. The program was anchored by Miss. Athira & Miss. Praise which was ended with national anthem.
