National pharmacy week celebration
The second day’s functions of 56th National pharmacy week were conducted on 18/11/2017 by NET pharmacy College, Raichur in Dr CM Gurumurthy Hall. Dr H Doddayya, principal N.E.T. Pharmacy college presided over the function. Dr T Srinivas registrar NET Raichur was the chief guest. Dr H Harishankar scientist National Centre for laboratory animal sciences, national institution of nutrition, Hyderabad and Dr. Balakeshava Ramaiah , Associate professor, Karnataka College of pharmacy, Bangalore very resource persons present on the Diace. The function started with invocation song by Miss Anura and Miss Anjali. Formal inauguration of the activities commenced with the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries on the dais. . Dr Shivraj Gowda welcomed the dignitaries and gathering. Dr T Srinivas, registrar, NET in his address expressed that pharmacists play vital role in educating the society about safety of medications any minor negligence of pharmacist will affect the health And life of the patient. He also stressed the need of pharmacists in active participation of community services. Dr H. Doddayya In his presidential remark assured that Chief guest suggestions will be implemented and frequent activities will be planned for community service in different locations of Raichur city. This followed by release of newsletter “Pharma Focus” by the Department of pharmacy practice, NET pharmacy College, Raichur. The winners of different competitions conducted were given prices by the chief guest. Mr Ramesh Babu gattu gave the vote of thanks.
After tea break the first lecture was the delivered by Dr N Harishankar on the topic introduction to animal sciences. This was followed by the second lecture by Dr Balakeshava Ramaiah on the topic “Management of high-risk medication”. Dr Shiv Kumar, associate professor introduced the resource persons to the audience. D Pharm, B Pharm,M Pharm, Pharm D, Nursing and Medical students participated in the days program. The staff of the different colleges, invitees also participated the second today’s celebration. Miss Athira Miss Neetu anchored different stages of the function.
N.E.T. Pharmacy College Raichur, Celebrated Valedictory function of 56th National Pharmacy Week in Central Library Auditorium on 20.11.2017. Dr. H. Doddayya, Principal preceded over the function. Dr.S.S Antin, Head, Dept. Of General Medicine,Navodaya Medical College Hospital& Research Centre was the Chief Guest. Dr. Pradnya Patil, Asst.Prof, Dept. Of Pharmaceutics & Mrs. Nimmy John, Asst.Prof Dept. Of Pharmacy Practice were resource persons present on the dais among with president and Chief Guest of the function. The programme started with an invocation by Ms. Madhuri. The dignitaries on the dais formally inaugurated the day”s programme by lightning the lamp. Dr.Shrishail Patil, welcomed the gathering. The Chief guest in his address described the role of pharmacist in the health care system and also in the community services. He stressed that, it is very much essential for the pharmacist in the health care field to upgrade their knowledge and implement the same in the proper treatment of patients. He expressed that, as the technology of the treatment changing day by day, it is essential for the pharmacist to upgrade the present practice and their role in the patient care and treatment. This was followed by presidential remark by H.Doddayya, Princpal. In his address, he described and endorsed the need of upgrading skills of healthcare professionals, as the pharmacist play the major role to the patients treatment,. Pharmacist is the bridge between the patients and doctors. He placed an important role in the proper medication to the patient and speedy recovery of the health. Dr. Sunilkumar B. Associate Professor, Dept. Of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, presented the vote of thanks. The programme was anchored by Ms Remitha and Ms Elizabeth.
On this occasion, two lectures were arranged to bring the awareness among the students about the proper and safety use of medicines. Dr. Pradnya patil, give lecture on the topic” Role of pharmacist in Medication Education “. This was followed by a lecture by Mrs Nimmy John. She spokes on the topic” Quality use of Medicines”. Both the resource persons clarified the doubts and questions raised by audience.
Dr. Shivumar, Head, Dept. Of Pharmacy practice, briefed the gathering the deliberations of 56th National Pharmacy Week Celebrations from day 1st to last .The programme concluded with National Anthem
